Philippine Marines Drum and Bugle Corps Shows Flag and Skills at JDF Marching Festival 2014
15 November 2014 – The Philippine Marines Drum and Bugle Corps proudly showed the National Colors with their participation in the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JDF) Marching Festival 2014 held on 13 to 15 November 2014 at the Nippon Budokan indoor arena in Tokyo.
The Philippine Flag was flown alongside the flags of Australia, Japan and the United States (photo right, L to R) in the finale of the Festival participated by the various bands of the JDF, the Australian Army Band, the US Marine Expeditionary Force Band and the United States Army Japan Band.
The Philippine Marine Drum and Bugle Corps was composed of 39 musicians and 11 support staff and headed by Col. Art G. Orticio, Jr., PAF, band conductor, and Ltc. Erwin Rommel P. Lamzon PA (CSC), Assistant Secretary Joint Staff.
Capt. Samuel Z. Felix, Defense & Armed Forces Attaché, Philippine Embassy, coordinated with the Department of National Defense and the Ministry of Defense on the travel to Tokyo and participation in the Marching Festival of the Philippine Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.
After their performance, Deputy Chief of Mission and Madame Gilberto Asuque conveyed to the Philippine Marines the congratulations of the Embassy for proudly showing the Philippine Flag and their marching band skills at this annual festival.
