Philippine Festival 2018 to Collect and Donate Used Smartphones to Tokyo 2020 Medal Project
The Tokyo 2020 Olympics Organizing Committee is holding the Tokyo 2020 Medal Project – a project aimed at collecting used smart phones and electronic gadgets and recycling their components to manufacture approximately 5,000 pieces of gold, silver and bronze medals to be used during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In line with this, and as an effort by the Filipino community to contribute positively to the country that has taken our people in for mutual benefit, the Philippine Festival 2018 is partnering with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Organizing Committee and is dedicating one (1) booth during the 08-09 September 2018 Philippine Festival at Hibiya Park where Filipinos can donate their used/broken smartphones and electronic gadgets.
The following items measuring not bigger that 30x15cm can be donated:
- mobile phones
- laptop
- digital camera
- digital video camera
- portable music player (e.g. ipod)
- handheld game console (e.g. game boy, psp, Nintendo)
- electronic dictionary
