PH Embassy Approves Over 500 Overseas Voting Registration Applications in Second RERB Hearing

The Philippine Embassy in Japan convened its second Resident Election Registration Board (RERB) hearing on 20 July 2026 to decide on applications for overseas voting registration lodged during the period of 01 April-30 June 2026, as part of ongoing preparations for the 2028 National Elections.
The hearing was presided by Acting Consul General and RERB Chairperson Robert D. Quintin, and was attended by the Embassy’s RERB Members, Labor Attaché Ramon Lamberto C. Pastrana and Consular Assistant and Attaché George Ivan D. Versoza, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Antonio Emmanuel R. Miranda as Administering Officer, and Legal and Records Officer Atty. Jamille R. San Jose as Voters’ Registration Machine (VRM) Operator.
More than 500 applications for overseas voting registration were processed and approved during the RERB hearing, representing a significant increase from the number of applications during the first RERB hearing on 20 April of this year. The number includes applications received during the Embassy’s consular outreach missions in prefectures outside the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Overseas voting applicants are encouraged to proceed to the Embassy’s Consular Section to submit their applications and supporting requirements before the end of the registration period on 30 September 2027, and accomplish their forms using the iRehistro portal (https://irehistro.comelec.gov.ph/ovf1).
Applicants residing outside Tokyo are also advised to follow the Embassy’s official social media channels and website for announcements on mobile registrations conducted outside Tokyo.
