Ambassador Garcia-Albano Encourages Filipino Community Leaders to Continue Their Mission of Helping Their Kababayan in Japan
Ambassador Mylene J. Garcia-Albano led the oath-taking ceremony of the new officers of Philippine Assistance Group (PAG) on 18 June 2023. The officers of PAG told the Ambassador about the organization’s past activities as well as its upcoming events for the Filipino community in Japan. Ambassador Garcia-Albano encouraged the newly-elected leaders of PAG to pursue their mission of assisting their kababayan in Japan through their various programs, including helping Filipinos in distress as well as promoting of Philippine culture to the community.
The Philippine Assistance Group is a Tokyo-based federation of Filipino community organizations formed in 1997. Its primary objective is to assist Filipinos both in Japan and in the Philippines especially those in need of emergency assistance and aid to communities affected by natural calamities.
