Philippine Embassy Promotes the Philippines in Global Festa 2019
The Philippine Embassy with the support of the ASEAN-Japan Center, in cooperation with the offices of the Agriculture Attaché and Tourism Attaché, promoted PH tourism, crafts and fruit products during the 2019 Global Festa, Japan’s biggest international cooperation fair, at the Odaiba Center Promenade, Tokyo on 28-29 September.
Participating in the event were more than 200 organizations, including various embassies, particularly recipients of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA), UN bodies, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Japanese non-profit organizations (NPOs), companies and other organizations that foster international development and cooperation.
The Philippine Embassy showcased handcrafted products using indigenous materials from various local producers in the Philippines. Fruit products, including saba banana, pineapples, papaya, and puso ng saging were featured, much to the delight of visitors to the Philippine booth. Interactive games and photo opportunities with Philippine iconic scenes as backdrop were also offered to promote tourism.
Under the theme, “Cheer up the world, your action will change the world”, the Festa aimed to showcase the importance of international cooperation initiatives, including ODA and cooperation between governments and NGOs, and to promote deeper understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2019 Global Festa is co-organized by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Japan NGO for International Cooperation (JANIC). END.
