Philippine Government Officials Successfully Complete Scholarship in Tokyo, Japan
Two Philippine government officials successfully complete their graduate studies in Japan.
Mr. William P. Manzanares from the Legal Group of the Bureau of Internal Revenue successfully completes the nine-month practicum program at the National Tax Agency for Internal Revenue Officials offered by the Ministry of Finance- Japan. The practicum was an extensive study of Japanese tax system, international taxation, and taxation system of respective participants. Aside from the practicum, Mr. Manzanares is also enrolled in Masters in Public Finance – Tax at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan. He is one of the fifteen officials from Asia currently doing their graduate studies under the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP).
Ms. Marie Edelweiss G. Romarate from the International Operations Department of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas also completes her Masters Degree in Public Policy at the University of Tokyo under the Japan-International Monetary Fund Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA). This scholarship program aims to enhance institutional capacity building through training government officials in the field of macroeconomic policy making.
