Philippine Embassy Recognizes Two PMA Exchange Cadets Following Completion of Training in Japan

On 16 March 2026, the Philippine Embassy in Japan received a courtesy exit call from two (2) exchange cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) who successfully completed their studies at the Japan National Defense Academy (JNDA) in Yokosuka, Kanagawa.

Aerocadet Garcia and Midshipman Mangetag earned their Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Cultural Studies after completing a five‑year program in Japan, consisting of four years of rigorous academic and military training and a one‑year language course.
Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano commended the graduates for their discipline, perseverance, and commitment to service. She likewise acknowledged the steadfast support of their families and underscored the value of the exchange program in deepening the enduring friendship and defense cooperation between the Philippines and Japan.
Upon their return to the Philippines, Aerocadet Garcia will serve in the Philippine Air Force, while Midshipman Mangetag will join the Philippine Navy.
