On behalf of Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, Chargé d’affaires, a.i. Christian L. De Jesus received a delegation of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), led by its Chairperson and CEO, Hon. Diorella Maria “Lala” G. Sotto-Antonio, at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo on 29 October 2025.
The discussions centered on MTRCB’s “Responsableng Panonood” (Responsible Viewing) campaign, which seeks to promote healthy and responsible media consumption among Filipino families. The initiative emphasizes the vital role of parents, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and guardians in guiding children’s viewing habits in today’s digital media environment, shaped by streaming services, online video platforms, and social media featuring user-generated content.
By equipping families with knowledge and practical tools, Responsableng Panonood aims to help OFW parents instill values of discernment, balance, and responsibility in the use of digital media.
The Embassy and MTRCB agreed to further explore opportunities for collaboration to ensure that Filipino families overseas remain connected, informed, and guided by values that strengthen both family life and Filipino identity.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto provided a brief overview of their campaign “Responsableng Panonood” (Responsible Viewing) during their call at the Philippine Embassy on 29 October 2025.
