19 January 2023 – Ambassador-Designate Mylene J. Garcia-Albano paid a courtesy call on Hon. Moriyama Hiroshi, Chairman of the Japan-Philippines Parliamentary Friendship League (JPPFL), and conveyed her desire to closely engage JPPFL in promoting parliamentary relations between the Philippines and Japan.

As a former member of the Philippine House of Representatives herself, Ambassador Garcia-Albano discussed opportunities where both countries’ parliamentarians can deepen their strategic cooperation through exchange of visits, and high-level engagements, among others.

JPPFL is composed of parliamentarians (cross-party) who promote Japan’s relations with the Philippines at the National Diet (House of Parliament). The League is instrumental in sustaining Japan’s development and technical assistance to the Philippines.
