H.E. Mme. Martha Lidia Zelayandia Cisneros, El Salvador’s Tokyo-based Ambassador to the Philippines, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador José C. Laurel V on 27 February 2017.

Mme. Zelayandia has been Salvadoran Ambassador to Japan since September 2011 and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines since January 2013. She manifested her desire to undertake a visit to the country within the year to explore areas for possible cooperation and study the Philippines’ best practices in the areas of agriculture, industrial zone development, migration management, eco-tourism and culture. Ambassador Laurel thanked her for her interest in fostering Philippine-El Salvador relations, noting that opportunities abound based on the two countries development priorities and shared Hispanic heritage.
