Join Antique Lone District Representative and House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Congresswoman Loren Legarda on the new episode of her online show Road to 500: A Philippine Quincentennial Special on September 8Tuesday, 10am via her official Facebook page.*

With the theme “A Taste of Asia,” the episode features the role of food and spices, especially of our ancestors, in the first circumnavigation of the world.

Joining the discussion are Chaiperson Rene Escalante of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (and concurrently the Vice-Chairperson and Executive Director of the National Quincentennial Committee, Republic of the Philippines), food historian Felice Prudente Sta. Maria, book illustrator Mariel Ylagan Garcia, and historian Xiao Chua.

The Road to 500 is a monthly online program that aims to update the public of the preparations for the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan, the Philippine part in the first circumnavigation of the world, and other related events in 2021.
