22 JANUARY 2018 – UPDATED REPORTS FROM THE JAPANESE METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY TODAY SHARED ITS LATEST FORECAST OF HEAVY SNOW UP TO 10 CM IN TOKYO FROM 2:00 PM (22 JANUARY 2018) UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING (23 JANUARY 2018).

SOME TRAIN COMPANIES HAVE REPORTEDLY CANCELLED EXPRESS TRAINS WHILE OTHERS WERE DECREASING THE NUMBER OF RUNS. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS THAT MANY MAY BE STRANDED OVERNIGHT.

NHK NATIONAL BROADCASTER HAS ALREADY ISSUED RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COPING WITH THE WEATHER, INCLUDING WEARING BOOTS WITH HEAVY THREADS, HEADING HOME EARLY, AND NOT WALKING WITH HANDS IN COAT POCKETS IN CASE OF SLIPS AND FALLS.

IN VIEW OF THE ABOVE, THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY WILL CLOSE ITS OPERATIONS AS EARLY AS 3:00 PM TODAY TO ALLOW ITS EMPLOYEES TO HAVE SUFFICIENT TIME TO COMMUTE AND REACH HOME EARLY AND SAFELY.

THE PUBLIC IS ADVISED TO MONITOR FURTHER ADVISORIES AS THE RESUMPTION OF THE OPERATIONS OF THE EMBASSY MAY BE AFFECTED DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER SITUATION TOMORROW, 23 JANUARY 2018.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION.
