Philippine Officials meet with Japanese Counterparts for the Philippines-Japan High Level Policy Consultation

The High Level Policy Consultation serves as the venue for the discussion of development cooperation programs between the Philippines and Japan and provides a platform for each government to update each other regarding their respective relevant policies as well as discuss specific issues and concerns regarding ongoing Japan-supported loan and grant projects.
The delegation also visited the Tokyo Metro Comprehensive Learning and Training Center located in Shin-Kiba, Japan. The Philippine government plans to set up a governmental training institute designed to boost local expertise and skills such as train operation, railway building and wiring technologies under a technical cooperation project with JICA.
Among the facilities in the Learning Center are the subway mock platform and the train simulator where Usec. Tungpalan tries his hands at driving a subway train.
