Philippine Embassy Wins Second Straight ACT Bowling Championship

09 April 2017 – The Philippine Embassy Team was declared this year’s Champions in the recently concluded ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Bowling Tournament held at the Tokyo Port Bowl.

The Philippine Embassy team composed of Deputy Chief of Mission Eduardo Martin R. Meñez (Team Leader), Mr. Lawrence Cuevas, Mr. Rodrigo Gavino, Mr. Ricky Arrangote, Mr. Aurelio Exaltacion, Jr., Ms. Veronica Bernardino and Mr. Reynaldo Cahayag, Jr., finished the three game series with an overall score of 2612. The Royal Thai Embassy came in second with a final score of 2532 and the Embassy of Lao PDR third with 2198. This is the second year that the Philippine Embassy brought home the Championship of the annual bowling tournament.

Aside from being this year’s winner, the Philippine Embassy was also the host of the 2017 ACT Bowling Tournament. Ambassador Jose C. Laurel V, who arrived only on 04 April 2017, graced the event – his first public appearance as Philippine Ambassador to Japan – with a message expressing hopes for a more dynamic and active ASEAN Committee in Tokyo.
