Philippine Embassy in Tokyo Commemorates 114th Death Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal

Ms. Gina A. Jamoralin, Chargé d’affaires, a.i., together with Consul General Sulpicio M. Confiado, Vice Consul Christian L. De Jesus and Vice Consul Hans L. Siriban, offered flowers to the monument of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in Hibiya Park, Tokyo, Japan.

The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo commemorated the 114th Death Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal on 28 December 2010.

Embassy officers had a wreath-laying ceremony before the marker and bronze bust of Dr. Jose Rizal. The bust was put up in 1998 at Hibiya Park, just in front of the location of the former Tokyo Hotel, where the national hero stayed from 1-7 March 1888. The wreath-laying ceremony was later followed by a flag-raising ceremony at the Embassy and a reading of Jose Rizal’s Mi Ultimo Adios at the lobby of the Chancery.

The program ended with lunch participated in by the officers and staff of the Embassy.
