Philippine Embassy in Tokyo Celebrates 155th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal

H.E. Manuel M. Lopez, Philippine Ambassador to Japan, led the wreath laying ceremonies in commemoration of the 155th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, in simple rites at the monument of Dr. Rizal at Hibiya Park in Tokyo. Joining Ambassador Lopez in the offering of the wreath include Consul General Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio (1st left) and Defence and Armed Forces Attaché (DAFA) Col. Noel Z. Plaza (2nd left in green military uniform). The ceremonies were also attended by Embassy officers and staff and members of the Filipino Community.

Prof. Ricardo T. Jose of the University of the Philippines (UP), who was visiting Tokyo, gave a short talk about Dr. Jose P. Rizal during the wreath laying ceremonies at the monument of Dr. Rizal at Hibiya Park in Tokyo to commemorate his 155th Birth Anniversary.
