Eight Philippine designs were selected as G Mark Awardees, which were announced on 01 November 2022 by the Good Design Awards (GDA) at the Good Design Exhibition 2022 held from 07 October to 06 November 2022.

The Good Design Exhibition 2022 is held to “share” the new “discoveries” made during the screening process, and features the BEST100 awardees. Visitors to the exhibition are also encouraged to vote for the Finalists for the Good Design Grand Award.

The selected Philippine designs are as follows: a) Nata de Coco Wound Dressing (Patchmed Cosmetic Trading); b) Mechanical Water Kiosk (Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation, Inc.); c) Macho Choir (DDB Group Philippines); d) MLR Polo Pavilion (Sangay Architects); e) Tubbataha Coral RIP (TBWA/Santiago Mangada Puno); f) Sakay.PH (Sakay Mobility Philippines, Corp.); g) Streetlight Tagpuro (Leandro V. Locsin Partners/LVLP); and h) Tumindig (KOMIKET, INC.).

The inclusion of Philippine designs into the G Mark award system is the result of mutual recognition established between the Good Design Award Philippines and G Mark Japan as part of the Design Center’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) and the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP).

The MOU supports the Design Center’s mandate of developing the Philippine design industry and creative economy through cooperation and collaboration in the promotion of design exchange opportunities between the Philippines and Japan.
