My fellow Filipinos in Japan,
On the occasion of my first Christmas in Tokyo, allow me to extend my joyous greeting to you and yours this Holiday Season!
As we prepare to usher in the coming year, Christmas gives us time to pause and reflect on the story of the Christ Child and its message of compassion and hope.
Like the more than 270,000 Filipinos strong in Japan, Mary and Joseph were migrants. Their sacrifice and humility on their journey to Bethlehem made possible the birth of hope into the world. The Magi were also visitors in a foreign land. The faith and courage rewarded them with a vision of truth and love.
We at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo are one with our fellow Filipinos in Japan in celebrating this wondrous occasion. Together with all Embassy personnel, I wish for every Filipino love, peace and prosperity.
May the spirit of Christmas further unite our nation and our people, and help usher in a brighter tomorrow!
