25th Anniversary of the People Power Revolution of 1986 at the Philippine Embassy, Tokyo

The officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo led by Ambassador Manuel M. Lopez, Madame Maria Teresa L. Lopez and family celebrated the 25th anniversary of the People Power Revolution of 1986 on 25 February 2011 with a program at the Embassy’s Multi-Purpose Hall.

The program began with a mass officiated by Father Bob Zarate, a Filipino priest based in Kamakura, Japan. The mass was followed by the Philippine national anthem and videos of the song “Bayan Ko” and the EDSA People Power Revolution.

The program’s highlights were the messages of Ambassador Lopez and Former Ambassador Jose A. Zaide, a guest of the Embassy. Ambassadors Lopez and Zaide shared their respective experiences during the People Power Revolution as well as their insights from this historic event.
