Four visiting officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo today at the conclusion of their week-long Police Management Training (PMT) program administered by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). They were received by Embassy Political Officer Minister Josel F. Ignacio and Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Noel Z. Plaza.

Led by Police Chief Superintendent Rey Lyndon T. Lawas, Executive Officer of the Directorate for Human Resources and Doctrine Development, the delegation included Intelligence Group Director C/Supt. Norberto Solomon, Intelligence Research Center Chief S/Supt. Celso L. Bael, and Regional Logistics and Research Development Division Chief S/Supt. Juan B. Añonuevo.

The PNP is a recipient of various forms of assistances from the Government of Japan and JICA. In 2017, Japan began the first delivery of 100 patrol vehicles to PNP units in Manila and the provinces. In recent years, technical assistance and training were also provided by Japan to the PNP in the key areas of firearms control, automated fingerprint identification, and crime scene investigation. END
