Philippine Embassy Serves Filipino Community in Gunma

Tokyo PE’s consular outreach team together with volunteers from Filipino Friendship Isesaki pose for a photo opportunity after successfully completing the outreach.

As part of its mandate to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, in partnership with the Filipino Friendship Isesaki headed by Mr. Rodolfo Dela Vega, conducted its two-day consular outreach mission in Gunma on 24-25 August 2019. Gunma is a prefecture in the Kanto region located 138 kilometers from Tokyo and is home to more than 8,000 Filipinos.

During the two-day mission, the six-member consular outreach team processed 327 e-Passport applications and 18 civil registration and notarial services.

Passport applicants commended the Embassy for the outreach service as they were able to save at least $200 each for travel expense to Tokyo.

Passport applicants await their turn for biometrics capture.

The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo will conduct its next consular missions in Hokkaido on 14 September, Nagano in October 2019 and Okinawa in November 2019.
