Philippine Embassy Activities for Independence Day 2018

The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo cordially invites the public to attend and participate in the following upcoming activities which form part of the celebration of the 120th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence:

From 9AM-5PM of 10 June 2018, the Embassy, together with Ana’s Trading, Asia Yaosho, New Nanay’s and Rainbow Fresh will showcase and sell Philippine handicrafts (native bags, fans, summer hats, etc), food (kakanin, halo-halo, etc.) and fresh fruits (mangoes and papaya) at the Philippine Embassy Grounds.

At 1PM-7PM, the Philippine Labor Office (POLO) will lead the premiere of the film “Kasarinlan” directed by Joey Manalang, an active Filipino community member and the first-ever winner of the 2016 Migrant Workers’ Day Celebration and Songwriting Contest, “Buhay at Pag-Ibig ng OFW.” The film features the talent and collaborative efforts of the different Filipino community organizations in Japan.

The theme for this year’s Independence Day Celebration is “Kalayaan 2018: Pagbabagong Pinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan.”
