Initial Batch of In-Kind Relief Items from Japan-based Donors Shipped Out

(Tokyo, 27 November 2013) – With the situation in the typhoon-hit areas in the Philippines far from becoming normal, the first batch of in-kind relief items received from various Japan-based donors have been picked up yesterday after being repacked at the Philippine embassy.

With the generous support of various Filipinos residing in Japan, Fil-American groups and other community leaders, embassy personnel were able to fill ten jumbo boxes with bath towels, tooth brushes, tooth paste, footwear, clothing, and other toiletries.

Through the kindness and assistance of Forex Japan, the items are expected to be delivered to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Field Office VII in Cebu City for onward distribution as needed. (END)
